COTI 2.0, announced on October 8, 2026, recasts COTI as a privacy network for what it calls private programmable money, built around two new products: Interphase, for private transfers between blockchains, and COTI Global, an app for spending. It arrived with a new [coti.io](https://coti.io/?ref=coti.io) and a public [roadmap](https://coti.io/roadmap/?ref=coti.io). Here is what is live today, what is new, and when COTI says the rest is coming.

*Current as of October 9, 2026.*

## What COTI Announced

In its [October 8 announcement](https://t.me/cotichannel/3255?ref=coti.io) on its official Telegram channel, COTI said it is moving into its next phase with a mission to "make private programmable money the global standard", so that institutions, businesses, developers and individuals can hold, move and settle value on public blockchains confidentially.

The relaunch builds on the strategy shift COTI [announced on September 21, 2026](https://t.me/cotichannel/3251?ref=coti.io), when it said it would focus on applications that bring private transactions into daily life. The [new website](https://coti.io/?ref=coti.io) puts it this way, in a quote from CEO Robbie Vander Ghinste: "COTI gives individuals, businesses and institutions a way to transact on public blockchains without transacting in public."

## What Is Live Today

**COTI network**

- Status: live on mainnet since [March 26, 2025](https://cotinetwork.medium.com/coti-v2-mainnet-is-now-live-a-new-era-for-web3-privacy-begins-f2a8631852e4?ref=coti.io)
- What it does: runs smart contracts on encrypted data using garbled circuits (our [plain-English explainer](https://coti.io/blog/garbled-circuits-explained/) covers how they work)
- Figures COTI's new site lists: about five seconds to finality and private throughput of 250 transactions per second

**Privacy-on-Demand and the Privacy Portal on Avalanche**

- Status: live. Avalanche's own account [announced on September 16, 2026](https://x.com/avax/status/2100321025401422168?ref=coti.io) that COTI's Privacy-on-Demand and Privacy Portal are now live on Avalanche
- What it does: lets apps on Avalanche run private computation through COTI while their users and assets stay on Avalanche, and lets users shield AVAX and USDC through the Privacy Portal, according to COTI
- What stays visible: COTI's [Privacy-on-Demand documentation](https://docs.coti.io/coti-documentation/privacy-on-demand/what-is-privacy-on-demand?ref=coti.io) says metadata such as timing, gas and which contract was called can still leak
- Note for developers: COTI's [Privacy-on-Demand networks page](https://docs.coti.io/coti-documentation/privacy-on-demand/networks?ref=coti.io) still lists only test environments, such as Avalanche Fuji, as of October 9, 2026

![Timeline titled COTI 2.0: what is live and what is planned, with four columns: live today (COTI mainnet since March 2025, Privacy-on-Demand and the Privacy Portal on Avalanche since September 2026), Q4 2026 to Q1 2027 (cross-chain private transfers across Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin and TRON, security audits, app payments), Q2 to Q3 2027 (more networks, private travel booking, virtual card, payroll), and Q4 2027 to Q1 2028 (developer SDK, compliance screening, network decentralisation)](https://coti.io/blog/content/images/2026/10/coti-2-0-explained_ASSET_2.webp)

## What's New: Interphase

COTI calls Interphase its flagship product. According to the announcement, it is meant to be a privacy layer for moving assets between blockchains, with confidential transfers across more than 30 major networks. COTI's roadmap names nine of those networks so far: Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin and TRON first, then Base, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Sui and Aptos in Q2 to Q3 2027.

- **What COTI says it will do:** send funds privately across chains, with the recipient receiving into a fresh address that COTI says won't be linked to the sender's wallet. COTI's roadmap also plans a privacy check that warns you when a withdrawal could link back to you, for example by reusing a known address or matching an exact public amount, so how you use it still matters. COTI also says compliance checks will be built into each transfer. It hasn't published technical documentation for that screening, and the roadmap's separate compliance layer is scheduled for Q4 2027 to Q1 2028.
- **Status:** planned. The roadmap's cross-chain transfer items put private transfers between Ethereum, Solana, Bitcoin and TRON in Q4 2026 to Q1 2027, together with independent security audits that COTI says will come before the system handles live transactions.
- **Not yet available:** there is no Interphase page in COTI's developer documentation as of October 9, 2026\. The code samples on coti.io show what the planned developer kit would look like, and the roadmap lists that kit for Q4 2027 to Q1 2028.

## What's New: COTI Global

COTI Global is the consumer app on the new coti.io, which the announcement describes as an app that lets COTI be spent as a privacy payment rail in everyday life. The site's footer links the crypto card, travel and VPN to it.

**Status:** planned, and not available to download as of October 9, 2026\. The roadmap doesn't label items by product, but these consumer items line up with COTI Global:

- **Q4 2026 to Q1 2027:** private payments and payment requests with encrypted notes, a private transaction history, and sending to up to 100 recipients in one transaction, per the roadmap.
- **Q2 to Q3 2027:** private travel booking for hotels and flights, and a virtual card, which the roadmap describes as Visa or Mastercard, that you top up by private transfer and use with Apple Pay or Google Pay, per the roadmap.
- **VPN:** linked to COTI Global on coti.io. Status: not live, and not on the new roadmap as of October 9, 2026.

Travel and the card are now later than before. The [previous roadmap](http://web.archive.org/web/20261007202423/https://coti.io/js/roadmap-data.js), as archived on October 7, 2026, had placed betas of the app, travel booking and the VPN, and the virtual card launch, in Q4 2026.

## What Comes Later

The roadmap's third phase, Q4 2027 to Q1 2028, covers:

- **A developer kit and checkout widget** so other apps can offer private payments.
- **A compliance layer:** COTI describes screening tools meant to show that funds meet legal standards without revealing a user's identity. It has not published how those tools will work.
- **Decentralising the network:** COTI plans to let community members run network nodes.

## What This Means If You Hold or Use COTI

The announcement sets out products and a roadmap. It doesn't ask holders to do anything, and it doesn't mention any token migration or swap. If anyone contacts you about upgrading or migrating your tokens for COTI 2.0, treat it as a likely scam and check it against coti.io, docs.coti.io and COTI's official X and Telegram channels first.

## Where to Go From Here

The quickest way to track what ships, and when, is COTI's public [roadmap](https://coti.io/roadmap/?ref=coti.io), which marks each item with what has to be true before it counts as done. If you build on COTI, the [Privacy-on-Demand documentation](https://docs.coti.io/coti-documentation/privacy-on-demand/what-is-privacy-on-demand?ref=coti.io) covers what is available today. COTI says more upgrades are coming this month, and we'll update this post as they land.

*Details checked October 9, 2026\. Roadmap dates are COTI's plans and can change. Nothing here is financial advice. COTI will never ask for your seed phrase or private key.*
